Hi Kate_,

"Oracle CRM OnDemand Pre-sales Consultant" -

a. Pre-sales employee - is someone making the initial contact with the potential customer and continues until the customer has been acquired.
b. Oracle CRM OnDemand - SAAS (software-as-a-service) solution from Oracle.
c. Consultant - an expert who can guide the sales force & give clients value add via this Oracle solution (by understanding the sales related business requirements of the clients)

If I had 10+ years of end-user experience in SAP. I would keep focusing on SAP for a consultant position.
You have a BIG advantage, you have experienced SAP from a user's perspective, that is one of the key for being a good consultant.

I though you are in to Finance, please inform me if this is not the case. Thus if you donot have Pre-sales or sales experience it might not be easy in this particular work-profile.

Of course, if you enjoy creating relationships, selling, wanting to learn something totally new, then it maybe an idea.

Lastly, if I was in your position, I would keep practicing in SAP test system. Get heavy configuration practice; use all my business process knowledge to practice configuration & parallelly search for a job in SAP.

Hi Guys,

I have 10+ yrs experience in SAP as end user. Currently trying to find work as junior(!) SAP consultant.

As result of my activity I have got a call from an agent trying to get me in as "Oracle CRM OnDemand Pre-sales Consultant". I have never worked with Oracle, but heard from a few ex colleagues (also SAP-reared) no good about it.

Anybody here can compare the 2 systems from experience?

Also I haven't a clue what pre-sales consultant means and would rather appreciate an unbiased view. (Agents tend to distort job specs towards my career goal if they know what that is - at least in my experience).
