RE:[sap-career] From SAP to Oracle?

Hi Viet,

I am not quite sure how to understand your reply, maybe you are very polite - as usually - maybe my English is not good enough yet to pick up subtle nuances.

Actually I meant that I was - and I am - really grateful for a few guys here, for they helped me out with a lot of info. Actually I have gained the confidence (womanhood if you excuse the pun) for applying such positions I am applying now partly because of them/you...

The thing is that in the real word (why this here is real too!) I have met more encouragement then dissuasion. But it usually went like this: -Kate, you should be in IT or somewhere other than here, you know the system so well. - Oh, thanks, but how I would go about it? - Hm, I don't know.

So that is why I said that it could (have been) be beneficial to have a senior adviser at the beginning of anybody's career - for senior colleagues/managers have more experience and they might give you sound advice. I tend to see both side of things therefore I just mentioned that in case that advice is/was discouraging one is better off seeking a second opinion - as one would probably do with an advice from a hospital consultant too. Hm?

Cheers,

Kate_

PS. I am going to see that ERP-Project Management group now :)

Subject: From SAP to Oracle?

Hi Guys,

I have 10+ yrs experience in SAP as end user. Currently trying to find work as junior(!) SAP consultant.

As result of my activity I have got a call from an agent trying to get me in as "Oracle CRM OnDemand Pre-sales Consultant". I have never worked with Oracle, but heard from a few ex colleagues (also SAP-reared) no good about it.

Anybody here can compare the 2 systems from experience?

Also I haven't a clue what pre-sales consultant means and would rather appreciate an unbiased view. (Agents tend to distort job specs towards my career goal if they know what that is - at least in my experience).

Many thanks in advance,

Kate_
