Sadly, that is not true. It is based on the assumption that they actually
have a clue what they are doing. In many cases, they don't. I have to
watch what they want to put me up for... The company that was trying to
hire is more likely to assume that the candidate lied than that their
trusted recruiting partner over stated. I get requests to apply for things
that I am in no way qualified for and for thinks that I am grossly over
qualified for. Both represent you poorly and can hurt your reputation.

Do not depend on their wisdom. in fact assume that they have little. The
fact that you read the original request, felt comfortable with it, and
chose it for your self is your best evidence of your qualification of all
that you are actually going to get. I have been turned down by many
companies. That doesn't mean that I shouldn't have applied (in most
cases). Because I am very particular, it means that they made a horrible
mistake. Their loss...

Also not necessarily true. These guys are constantly looking for more
places to present more people. They present to anyone that they've ever
heard of and for positions that they only have the vaguest knowledge of.

If the job is any good, I usually get multiple people asking me to apply
for it. Once I waited 3 months and then got an interview.

Hm,

As matter of interest how would you interpret that you are approached about the very same job by Agency"B" two weeks after you have applied for it through Agency"A" ? (double-checked with "A" and the agent was sure that they had forwarded my CV to the company back then).

Mine would be that
1) I am right in applying for SAP Support type roles
2) I won't get this particular one...
