I have to question the statement that your experience in Java will help you in ABAP. You might as well say that experience in GW Basic will help you in ABAP. The only similarity is that they are both programming languages. However being a programmer is a leg up on getting a start in ABAP.

I have been working in java,j2ee web applicaitions from last 4 years. Now i am planning to shift my carrier from java to SAP. So I need an adivse on these points.
1. Is it correct idea?
2. Can i use my Java 4 years experience and continue in SAP carrier?
3. How will be my carrier after choosing SAP as per trend in current IT industry
4. which module i should select in SAP
5. How the job oppertunities will be there
6. If i am going with my Idea, how much cost comes around to complete the SAP module?
