In USA, age seems to be a big issue, not only in SAP but in most fields, most people find it hard to find jobs after 40. IH New York, USA

I got into SAP at the age of 48 and now, 15 years later, I am more in demand than ever because I am now an acknowledged expert in my field. I have a friend and colleague who is over 70 and still going strong (also in FI-CO). Age can be a barrier if you let it be, or if applying for a permanent job where employers only want 25 year-olds but with 20 years experience. Maybe they are cheaper than us oldies and maybe an employer thinks we will turn up our toes before he has gotten his money's worth out of us, but as a consultant age, maturity and experience actually seem to be advantages.
