Hi PK, Like Loknath said being a module consultant is "more operational" than research and PhD. In a consultant role not many ground breaking work shall take place. It is more about understanding how SAP works and then configuring it in accordance with the business requirements. It is also about experience and remembering what can be done in standard SAP (and how) and what has to be done via customization (i.e. Coding). The role of a consultant is very interesting. But different from PhD and "conceptual development and making breakthroughs" If you can like and work in "consulting type of work" for 5 to 7 years, then start on this journey. Because this much time is needed to explore, to become any kind of expert in ONE module.
