Dear chakri :

It is sad to know that you objectively are pushed slowly but surely out of your current career because of inevitable market development against your domain of BPCS/ ERP LX.

The following short publications and reports will offer you a clear view about the future of ERP in general and help you correctly locate the market position of Infor's products.

"ERP Report for 2011"
http://whatiserp.net/erp-comparison/erp-report-2011/

"ERP Vendor Evaluation 2010"
http://whatiserp.net/erp-comparison/erp-vendor-evaluation-2010/

You now have a reasonable foundation for why you are trying to get away and enter the SAP market. The easy way to recommend is to tell you to stop doing what you are doing and run into SAP. The employment market of SAP is still very capable to offer to anyone a position with good payment but at the same the market dictates that that person must be able to demonstrate a certain kind or combination of knowledge and skill. SAP-related knowledge and skill are unfortunately not available with you.

It appears that one of the most suitable ways for your situation is:
After you are able to locate and describe trustworthily the developments of the market against BPCS/ ERP LX using the pure facts, you are going to convince your potential clients, including your current employer to move to SAP. (It is not difficult to convince anyone and/or business unit with SAP products because they are leader of the market in the world.) And in it I see your chance: Because you are knowledgeable in BPCS/ ERP LX you should be able to present yourself as a useful person who is, at the same time, willing, ready and able for the transition away from BPCS/ERP LX to SAP. With this you can utilize your current knowledge and secure a position with SAP.

If you can develop a more suitable solution with increased viability for your situation, please discuss.

Subject: SAP career viable after experience in BPCS/ERPlX?

Thanks for your valuable advice, but do you know how many new clients are implementing BPCS now a days and how many existing BPCS customers are moving away from BPCS and implementing SAP or any other ERP? Future of BPCS/ERPLX is most uncertain as Infor is not keen on improving or getting new versions of the ERP. Its dying slowly, so I wanted to make move to any other ERP with my current functional knowledge, what do you say?

Thanks & Regards,

Chakri.
