Dear nitinbhalla :

At the beginning of some movies there is a warning that the content of it is not appropriate to some viewers. So this piece of suggestion!

In the best of your interest you owe to yourself to put all your assets, tangible and intangible as well, on the balance before you make a decision of this caliber:

Here is what you already have for a number of years (eight) in "Stock Broking, Insurance and Asset Management". You can only have survived the pressure and the requirements of the job for eight years and then climb up on the hierarchical ladder of your professional career into "the middle management level in the Financial Services industry and understand the business requirements from the operational/sales perspectives for an organization" because you are able to continuously deliver the performance that is requested by the position and organization.

In clear text: your knowledge and your skill set are securing you into your professional future. You are signed up for the success in your chosen profession for a number of years if not decades to come. Not only your specified knowledge will distinguish you from other people, your ability and capacity in inter- and intrapersonal environment is superior compared to the majority of SAPers, even to the ones who are successfully spending decades in the fields of SAP. The majority of them understand well what SAP is, for what purpose and under what circumstance, in what time frame etc. SAP module(s) should and can be used and installed etc. But the majority of them still do not get a fair chance (objectively and subjectively) to learn how to evaluate the significance of the interaction between the human beings. This ability is an unconditional item to interact, understand the other side(s), understand the problem(s), be reasonable, co-operate; and finally and actually be able to corroborate toward a constructive solution to realize the agreed plan for the involved. You evidence to possess the practice of this ability. This ability is invaluable!
(Do you still need evidence for the importance of this point? The thirty millions Dollars failure in Marin County's, California will take the last piece of doubt off your mind. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/projectfailures/understa nding-marin-countys-30-million-erp-failure/10678 delivers you the first entry .)

The only conclusion that can be drawn is therefore: Please cultivate your ability and stick with your current position; and if you wish to enlarge your capacity into SAP, it certainly is a goal that you should realize as soon and as far as you can.

I just want to see that you and everyone have a good chance to "live a healthy and productive life" (this is the slogan of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation http://www.gatesfoundation.org/Pages/home.aspx)

Subject: What stream in SAP would suit my career?

Hello,
I am from Financial Services industry and have an experience of more than 8 years in the Stock Broking, Insurance and Asset Management domain. I am looking forward to make a career for myself in the IT space and have been recommended by my friends to try a Functional Consultant profile - SAP. I want guidance on which type of course might help me in getting a career in the same.

I am in the middle management level in the Financial Services industry and understand the business requirements from the operational/sales perspectives for an organisation. Will any short term course help me enter the IT services domain at the expected level to match the current level of CTC offering, or al IT companies will consider me as a fresher and offer entry level compensation.

I seek your advise. I am good at front end use of CRM and other applications, can also adapt easily to learn other aspects as required by the business.

Awaiting your advise.

Regards
Nitin Bhalla
