Quite impressive a profile that you carry !

In my opinion, what matters foremost in pursuing work is as follows and in
that order:

a. love and passion one has toward work.
b. I would rank skill,knowledge and expertise ( all fo which can be acquired
in due course, if you have the passion for such work)
c. job satisfaction, scope for progress and monetary benefits

All these are subjective. Therefore, if you love FI, you could get into it.
If you have passion for MM, then go for it.

However, in my opinion, since your recent experience is in FI ( there is a
lot of demand for FI professionals these days ) , it appears to be a better
domain. I suppose you can do well in anything you do since you seem to have
experience both functionally and technically.

Wish you success in whatever you do.

Hello,
I am looking for advice regarding SAP certification.
I have 3 years experience with SAP MM 3 implementations 8 years ago, then I worked with Oracle Financials FI 4 years, finally worked Cognos for 2 years.

I want to work as SAP consultant again. I have an IT Bachelor degree. But I do not like to program; that is why I did not like Cognos. I enjoy working as a functional consultant.
Well I wanted to know your advice regarding should I get a certification on MM or FI.

To work as a FI Consultant do you need to have a CA or accounting background?
I do have very good knowledge of the financial business processes AP, AR, GL, FA, etc. But I do not have an accounting background.

I do have working knowledge of SAP MM, but it has been a while since I worked with SAP. I would need the training and certification to get up to date with the newest version.
