Hi Gopali ! Your 8 years of experience in Oracle will not carry much weight. You need to start as a fresher in SAP-HR, if you go for an implementation or support profile, also getting a job in implementation or support is not that easy. Best for you this time is to apply for an end-user job in SAP first (and not in implementation or support), which you can get easily if you have a working Knowledge of Payroll and other HR processes. Since you are working on Oracle for the past 8 years, try applying for the post of a senior payroll (or HR) executive in a MNC which has implemented SAP for it's HR processes. Once get selected try migrating to SAP support or implementation after a period of one year. In the first one year, build your basics as an end-user with respect to various HR processes like Time Management, Payroll, Personnel Management, Organization structure etc. After you migrate to support or implementation learn the configuration and customization part. Try mustering the Payroll part of HR module properly as it is the most difficult sub-module as compared other HR sub-modules. In-between also learn a little bit of ABAP skills like table management, programming etc. on the job itself which will act as a support to your core knowledge of the HR module. Wish you all the best !

Contrary to that , you have achieved proficiency in Oracle and doing the job for the last 8 years which is totally a diversion. That means, your foundation is done at one place and building is being constructed in another place. Hence, you are not being called as a professional of either commerce or oracle. Now, you wanted to build you career in SAP HR - means, you wanted another building in another area which not connected to your B Com or the 8 years experience of your Oracle. What I mean to say is, fortunately / unfortunately, you have entered in an area called IT and had put-up 8 years of experience. This will be useful just to enter in any of the entry / middle level jobs in the same area where you will be a life time worker but not a leader. So, first of all, have foundation for that with one correspondence course like B Sc / M Sc - Computers immediately without much delay. If you are able to do an Engineering Degree (Correspondence) in computers, it would be fare better. Than, you can do any petty course either on ERP based / any other course to sharpen your tool and make it as your profession. Otherwise, lack of professional qualification always stops your promotion / increment by showing the same as one reason. Your services will be exploited by down grading and will not be taken to managerial category in your life time. with best wishes, Ravindrakumar Hyderabad - 15.08.2011 09246333882 | | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author.
