Dear vasanthkouluri :

You did not describe the level of knowledge and practical experience in the IT area. I therefore assume that you do not possess, at the current time, a marketable skill set needed for you to demand an entry into the IT on a higher level.

Further assumption is that
Your eight years of experience in retail is at low organized level,
Your highest level of knowledge is to be found on your Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and
You are at the beginning of your career.

Based on the above, the best starting point for you is to use your knowledge of your Master's Degree. SAP itself is the world largest manufacturer of ERP software and you can be sure of the fact that most of the powerful enterprises in the world are SAP customers. Million of peoples are using SAP daily to get the job done in around the globe. If you are good (in a number of year from today), you would not have to worry about your earning potential because the needs of capable SAPers is still (and will be) increasing in a world that is getting more complex and more competitive. SAP and you will offer to your customers a powerful (or at least a useful) tool not only to survive the pressure of the market of the world but to grow. Fact is, as mentioned in many other correspondences at earlier times, that SAPers are people who have ones of the highest earning potentials in the IT.

As beginner, you should concentrate your energy to get a foot into the door and not too worry about your earning potential in the future. Getting hired as soon as possible must be your current priority! Then work hard for a number of years, and then look at yourself. Ask the question: How good you already are, and what can you actually do for your clients/customers to make them more successful? If you can answer these two crucial questions with high satisfaction, if you were in the shoes of your clients/customers, the time for you to make a large amount of money has already arrived. Otherwise, you worry too much at the wrong time in your life and your chosen profession. You put unnecessarily burden on yourself. And it is useless.
