Dear Samir Pirani: The fact that you present is un-deniable that the needs of SAP are comparably much higher than in the traditional usefulness of main frame. You state: "I am looking for a career wherein based on my knowledge on the business of the Customer and expertise in Technology, I can help Customer design their system." Would you mind to put some thoughts into your brain about SAP HANA? Should SAP be able to make it a success in an acceptable time frame, there would not be a better time for all SAPers. It will create a huge market. SAP HANA (High Performance Analytic Appliance or In-Memory-Computing) is a so promising idea and SAP confirms and reconfirms a number of times and at all important events that it is ripe for the use on the market. It is important enough that Mr. Hasso Plattner, one of the founders and former CEO of SAP takes care of it personally. HP (Hewlett Packard) is the major player on the hardware side for SAP HANA. And DELL is another player whose equipment is officially recognized and acknowledged by SAP in its world event SAPPHIRE 2011 from May 15-18, 2011 in Orlando, The United States. All the facts of the market point out: The demand of SAP HANA will be very high! Some analysts predict that SAP HANA will be able to continuously force ORACLE (Database plus ERP) out of its traditional role. If you find a way to get involved with SAP HANA at its very beginning which is now, I have reasons to be convinced that your customers or clients would be thankful for your services (based on your in-depth-understanding of hardware on the highest level, of the software on the deepest bottom line and of the whole picture of how all parts of a computing system work together; and if there should be a problem somewhere, anywhere: you know how to fix it.) A certain by-product is: The success that you are looking for. Regards, Viet Tran

Viet, I had similar thought as yours but I feel eventually after 8 or more years of my experience I would be managing a delivery team which I do not want to get into. I am looking for a career wherein based on my knowledge on the business of the Customer and expertise in Technology, I can help Customer design their system. As far as I have seen the trends in mainframe, this kind of career opportunity does not seem possible cos all the systems in mainframe are in place and there is only maintenance required. So I thought for going into SAP. | | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author. Toolbox.com 4343 N.
