I would just say that SAP experience is much better to have than an SAP 'degree', unless you are fixated on degrees. Most info that one learns at University is out of date after five years or so anyway if it is a technical degree. German, if one knows English as a native, is a very EASY language to learn. There are dozens and dozens of words the same so one starts out with decent German vocabulary. The grammar is not that hard and most can be fluent easily within one year with just a little effort.. With some effort most tend to start to think in German after two or three months. The writing is more of a challenge, however. The English in your original post did not seem to be that of native speaker so it might take you a bit longer. Now, having said the above, consider if you can, getting an SAP position in Germany since you indicated that you are a SAP ABAPer already. Work their at least one year and avoid all contact with those who speak your native tongue. Easier said than done, but worth it. What this year (or longer) will do is put YOU in Germany, learning/perfecting German and you will become comfortable with the German culture. Having that knowledge will allow YOU to learn where the best schools are for you. Avoiding as much as possible contacts where you speak anything but German will accelerate your learning and force you to make German friends. Simultaneously, reading as much as possible in only German during this time will help you with written German. BTW, I went to University in Germany and I was not impressed except it was good times to party and lots of free time. There was a lot of cheating on exams, the structure was too loose for me and the piece of paper that I got was simply the equivalent of a 'union card' that allows me to be seen as an educated man. The difference is that a real 'union card' usually shows that one has mastered something. The degree helps to knock down some personnel doors, but other than that I have not found it very useful in the SAP world. Bottom line, if you are young and have the time then go to a University, just do not expect to be an expert when done. If you want real expertise in both SAP and German then work in Germany in the SAP arena.

I have taken it in Missouri, USA, and there are eight other universities which offer this program. Another suggestion which I also did, I contacted SAP and requested a list of universities around the world, and got it in 2006. Regards. | | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author.
