Dear Manjaya : There are three paragraphs in your reply letter below. Paragraph Number 1: You state "These numbers make sense". My congratulation to your ability to process the information presented to you, as "new bees" as you described yourself. It frees me from the fear that the facts of the case could be getting lost in its efficiency (No, I am just kidding with you). These are hard facts that pull and place SAP products to and at the front line in the market. Paragraph Number 2: First Statement: "SAP provides many modules, it make difficult to choose one for new bees. " If it were not so, no Fortune-500-Companies would consider SAP at all. Put yourself into the shoes of CEO of SAP: What do you have to do to position your company on the world market and secure the long term success? Would your company and its shareholders agree to accept you as CEO based on your inability? "It is difficult to choose" reflects the low standard of knowledge of the person who expresses. (Do not take it personally; you still have all the freedom to voice the innocent content of your mind because you are at the beginning of your career. Nobody would blame you at the current time.) And because it is difficult (not only) to choose, it creates a lucrative market for consultant and other experts etc. Second Statement: Regarding minimum amount of experience, earning potential and burden accompanying the job etc. All the named are inevitable result of a functioning market. If you want a job with all positive attributes, you must be able to perform and fulfill the expectation of the payer. In our current economic system of the market: You are not chained and forced to do anything if you do not wish to so do. It always is a very personal question whether you would be willing to accept the burden that come with a (any) job. The income level in India is comparably low, compared to (fully) developed countries. But do not forget that the living expense in India is only a fraction of the cost in other countries. Paragraph Number 3: First Statement: "My opinion is that ERP implementations will help the company save money and increase the profits" It is true. It is the main argument of SAP to place their products and services. And SAP is successful in the world because the content of the statement is true. Second Statement: "Most of the implementations done in less than 2 years, after that most of the SAP consultants leave and company keep SAP consultants to minimum." It is true. The average time of implementation is about eighteen months. Logically, consultants in a large number is no longer needed after completion of implementation. Third Statement: "Implementations are good for companies not for employees? Since the population is growing, it should be other way around." Answering your question here would overstep the limit and/or scope of this forum. Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2011 10:36 PM Subject: Evaluation of SAP career Dear Viet Tran, These numbers make sense, if you compare with other ERP systems, with all other technologies as well as a whole. You are in sales field; you are the best one to dig the numbers and compare with percentage. I am not against for SAP or other ERP's. Just interested in finding the details. SAP provides many modules, it make difficult to choose one for new bees. Further, it seems not a great jobs opportunities for entry level and 2-3 years of SAP experience guys in the US. Mid level (4-7 years) experience guys may be making little better compensation. I don't know it is worth because it comes with every week travel and short term position. In addition, small and medium size cities have very few SAP implementations. Thus, it make difficult to find SAP jobs in these cities. Well experienced guys might be making good compensation, still they need to travel, short term, missing family (post by dddtate)?etc. Let us not worry about the compensation any more. This may not true for countries like India. My opinion is that ERP implementations will help the company save money and increase the profits. Most of the implementations done in less than 2 years, after that most of the SAP consultants leave and company keep SAP consultants to minimum. Implementations are good for companies not for employees? Since the population is growing, it should be other way around. Thanks, | | __.____._ Copyright © 2011 Toolbox.com and message author.
