Yes, agreed.
I am in SAP Consulting for the past 10 years, still no certification.
It is about concept and application of the concept in SAP
(looking after 2 Modules).
The percentage between certified and non certified, the latter is more.

Roy is absolutely right. Though the general trend in India is to look for
and employ certified professionals, it does not always have to be so. In
fact, I was a teaching SAP for nearly a year or so even before I got myself
SAP certified..
