Re: [sap-career] The Hottest Module in SAP for the Entry Level

Dear Haytham Karem Mohammed:

Your start position in your request is completely understandable that you "want to have the most brilliant career as anyone does", so do I wish for you the same.

At the current stage of your professional career in the field of SAP (other would prefer to use the term The World of SAP, to make it more glamorous), you should not worry too much about whether the world is going down tomorrow or whether the sun would be coming up the day after.

In every profession, being subjective is the norm (remember the old saying: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder). All the cats say that each of them has the longest and the most beautiful tail. The ABAPer as you state are "doing a huge efforts in his position" and therefore must have a justified and convincing basis to complain that they only get "half of the salary of a functional consultant". But why should you bother at the beginning of your career?

It would be more supportive to you that you concentrate in your first position (be it ABAP, be it whatever area) within your reach based on market given conditions in your particular case, your personal preference, and calculation with the result that you get the recognition for your performance and personalities. Afterward, you then will have the luxury of choice and freedom to move into the direction of your choosing in conformity with your personal preference; otherwise you have a fair chance to belong to the day dreamer for a long period of time.

Remember that you always have two hands, the one you take and at the same time with the other you give. In order for you to be able to give, you must possess at least one thing of value. And at the current time, it is reasonably doubtful that you possess a thing that is valuable enough to make you a successful man in the transaction with the market.

Regards,

Viet Tran

Subject: The Hottest Module in SAP for the Entry Level

Hi all,
I have the following skills as a fresh grad and I'm seriously thinking to start in SAP
(SQL developer - C# - OOP concepts crystal reports).
I'm confused a little bit I want to have the most brilliant career as anyone does, I'm thinking in ABAP as I have the concepts in OOP, and I can be a techno functional consultant! - but what makes me afraid is being stuck in ABAP as the company policy - the problem in ABAP as I've read a certain blog post is that the salary could be half of the functional consultant! While the ABAPer doing a huge efforts in his position.
I'm confused i really want to gain knowledge and be paid well too.
BO is one of the options in the functional track.
Please help.

Thanks a lot.
