Reply from karthiksai on Jan 5 at 4:13 AM If you are a fresher then it is better to work as abaper and then go with BI/BO. Why...because as a fresher you don't have openings in BI/BO. But learning abap you can get job immediately and you can gain some functional knowledge and you can easily shift to BI/BO. But coming directly into BI/BO is at your own risk where opportunities are less as a fresher but for experienced many openings are there. As 1.6 yr BI/BO consultant I am facing the same problem. As I want to shift the company I couldn't because of less openings for below 3 yrs. Above 3 yrs, there are many openings. So my advice is to start with abap and then gain functional knowledge then you can change anywhere. Regards, karthik
