What's your passion? You need aptitude and passion to excel in anything. Certainly demand and $ also matter. If you want to become a surgeon and if you're afraid of blood, you are not going to become a good surgeon. If you are going to be a ABAPer, make sure you like coding, programming and you get a kick in fixing bugs to solve business problems.

As per my research anyday ABAP is better than Security. I have known
and seen people trying to move to ABAP from Security. So I'd suggest you do
enough research and decide .....Talk to people who are in Security and
ABAP.
If you have gone through a recent post by one of our member called SAM who
has been working in SAP Security and who is now planning to move to SAP
ABAP or BI/BO you might get a better idea.
