You could start by going to the SAP Help Portal http://help,sap,com where you will find all the standard SAP documentation. Start with ERP Central Components which will give you an understanding of the depth and breadth of the software. There are many paths to follow on this one website alone. Then you can use Google to find many more links to SAP materials, many of them free and downloadable. Look out for TERP10 materials because this is a fairly basic course that you can take without having to spend money. Certification and formal classroom training can come later when you have learned something about the system, as these involve investing money and time and certification is supposed to be limited to those who have at least 2 years of experience of working with SAP. What you can find is a free CD from the SAP.com website that you can have sent to you and which can be installed on a private laptop or PC to give you a practice environment for ABAP programming. This is of limited usefulness if you do not want to be a programmer, but it allows you to get the "look and feel" of the system. You can also look around on the web for people who offer IDES systems to practise on. You will come across people who offer to sell you an entire SAP system on CDs or DVDs to install on your own computer but be wary of such offers. Usually these are illegal copies or doubtful quality copies, and sometimes people demand a lot of money up front and you never even see the goods. Then installing on a laptop or PC is not easy because SAP is usually a sever-based system and you only usually have a GUI on a personal computer. So be careful and be sure to ask people who know before buying any such offers. You can build yourself a plan for gaining the experience and maybe for changing jobs later to get your hands on the system, but do not be in too much of a hurry and look at this long term. I hope the above helps you to get started on learning SAP without too much investment. Regards, Roy | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
