Reply from Debashish_leo on Dec 26 at 1:27 PM Hi Vene! If you really want to join SAP FICO, you really need to properly master all accounting concepts properly before taking the plunge. If you are ready for the challenge, please go ahead, but it will take at least 2 to 3 years to get established as a FICO consultant. Also to be on the safer side, if you do not have any educational certifications related to finance, please do at least a PG Diploma in Finance or Financial Management through correspondence from any UGC or AICTE recognized management institutes, as some companies also insist on at least one finance degree among your educational credentials when hiring FICO consultants, which can be BCom, MBA(Finance) or a PG Diploma In Financial Management. If you want to switch over to SAP-HR, it is much simpler as compared to FICO. All you need is to master the HR concepts properly, which can be done with-in six months. Unlike FICO, you don't need to be an MBA(HR) or PD Diploma in HRM to venture in SAP-HR. Also I don't agree with Rajeev Kumar that FICO is the basis for all functional modules as each module whether it is FICO, MM, PS, PP, SD, CRM or HR has it's own unique set of challenges and opportunities. Yes, I do agree that there are more job opportunities in FICO as compared to any other functional modules, also growth and learning opportunities are more in FICO as compared to HR (or any other functional module for that matter), but I also must admit that the challenges in FICO are also more as compared to the other functional modules. It up to you to decide whether you want to pull up your socks and take up greater challenges in FICO and enjoy better growth in the long run or face moderate challenges in HR (taking into account your schedule and capacity) and switch to HR. Wishing you all the best for the future! Regards, Debashish

SAP fico module is the base for the rest of the functional module of SAP. HR module knowledge you can have, also at any given point of time FICO jobs will be more than HR module jobs. Since you are well versed with technical side of the SAP, learning functional side should not be a difficult task for you. Future belongs to those who can do multitasking. | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | In the Spotlight Become a blogger at Toolbox.com and share your expertise with the community.
