Dear Viet Tran,

you are of course fully entitled to your opinions. Personally I cannot make much sense of your posting, and do not know what exactly you are trying to say. Having said that, I do not want to enter into a long debate on the subject, whatever it is. My opinions are clearly stated and well-known, as are those of Mr Wilhite and others. Let us let the matter rest there.

Rgds, Roy

[sap-career] Senior SAP Resource with a Broad Understanding of the MM, SD, PP, FI and CO Modules

Dear R. N. Wilhite:
Dear Roy Brookes:
Dear Others:

I have reason to be convinced that the question and exchange of information, mainly between R. N. Wilhite and Roy Brooke is dancing around the point of How to find a (REAL) TIGER IN WHITE, ALL WHITE from top to toes. (I cannot use the White Elephant term because of the distinction in the meaning, even though I like the elephant better).

Here is the undeniable evidence: Several persons of our business unit were sent to Germany to spend time to sit for study in the classroom in Germany for up to almost seventeen months, five full days a week, to become experts in R/2 and R/3 in most of the modules running on IBM mainframe, IBM midsize and SUN machine in 1995. The course and training was organized, supervised and offered by one of the largest German Industry Consortiums. During the course and until the end of the training there is not one person from the course and training institution who was able to deliver a full picture about how SAP works and how SAP modules work together. Instructors of the course arrived from all over the world of competence and quality.

Did the sun go down (with SAP) because of this? You might wish to think so. To the contrary, the sun is still coming out since then AND the event repeats on a daily basis. And SAP is still growing into a multi-billions dollars business a year. And most of the world class business entities are SAP users.

The question, consequently, to practically ask in reality is always: For what purpose do you really need and want the expert knowledge in SAP and how much are you able, willing and ready to pay for your request?

And do not forget to consider: The constellation of the market power of the involved parties and other market conform conditions are heavy weights in answering the question of HOW and WHERE to FIND A WHITE TIGER.

(The vast majority of the cases is then that no one asks you to be on the journey to find the WHITE ELEPHANT because no one needs it or wants to pay for it. The case is closed and you are free to go with the head high.)

Regards,

Viet Tran
