Quite right, David. This is especially true for the Financial modules
of SAP which are on the end of the food chain and catch all the stuff
coming down the line. We FI-CO consultants have a saying "If someone
configures C#@p anywhere else in the system the whats it will end up
in FI and CO so we have to know how to sort it out". That means we
need a very good understanding of what the guys are doing in the
other modules and what they can do wrong because problems do not just
start at the interface to accounting.

Rgds, Roy

Absolutely! You might specialise as a consultant but an
appreciation of the working of other modules and the issues that
arise with them, and especially the way they integrate with your main
focus, is extremely useful, and in some cases essential.

e.g. If you are investigating an issue you might be looking at it
from the point of your specialty but an understanding that the cause
might not lie there but with one of the other modules that feed into
it, can save a lot of confusion and work.
