Absolutely! You might specialise as a consultant but an appreciation of the working of other modules and the issues that arise with them, and especially the way they integrate with your main focus, is extremely useful, and in some cases essential. e.g. If you are investigating an issue you might be looking at it from the point of your specialty but an understanding that the cause might not lie there but with one of the other modules that feed into it, can save a lot of confusion and work.
