Knowing 100% of SAP is quite a Himalayan task. If you can at least spell it that means you know most of the config. This forum was raised why SAP Certified freshers do not get a break. If you know, and yes, if you can answer all the questions (80%) raised by the interviewer where do you lack? Roy, just to ask you something, if a person gets himself trained using IDES and if his knowledge in his/her module is commendable, do you think that person should lag behind? Again, not howling.

Hi Neal,

yes, I know what you mean. Some of the guys in this forum seem to
think as soon as you can spell SAP you are entitled to a job in the
field and you can be a consultant even if you have never worked
before. Gusy like you and me, who have spent many years learning what
we now know are not respected any more. I am a freelancer and have
been for many years because I got fed up being told "You're too old
and you're over-qualified for this job", and that was already
happening twenty years ago!! Employers fall for the 25 year-old with
20 years of experience, but real experience still counts for a
consultant.

Regards, Roy

It's a strange world we are come to, Roy! No one wants to earn
anything any
more. It's all about instant gratification.

Back in my day, an ABAPer was considered senior after 5 years. I hit
5
years and I thought I knew it all... Today, I look at 5 year ABAPers
(and I
was no different when I first got my 5 years) and think "WOW, you
finally
are comfortable with the nuances of the language. Now we can start
training
you in the real work..." Come 10 years, maybe you'll be a senior by
my
standards...

The ABAP consultants that are in and out of here are largely a joke.
They
don't know how to think for themselves. They don't know how to
analyze.
Finally however, I have one that I can respect. He's better than I
am...

Neal
