On the other hand if I was offered a job as (junior) SAP consultant tomorrow, and there was no training I would turn it down straight away (at least I think now).
Hi Kate_ I would strongly disagree with you with regards to "turning down a job offer, if there is no training". Please think - is getting a training (program) same as getting trained? Is your goal becoming a consultant or learning some configuration steps? Once you get in to a consulting company, you shall learn by watching the senior consultant, you shall have a bank of blueprints, manuals etc. and you shall be configuring or helping in configuration, testing - REAL TIME. If you get a chance to work with capable consultants, demanding clients; training program or NO training program; in a few years you shall come out TRAINED! Good luck!

So here it goes: Do consulting companies usually give training to new hires before letting them work face-to-face with customers? If I was a client I would expect a consultancy firm to give some training to their freshers before billing me for hundreds of euros/day for them, would I not? On the other hand if I was offered a job as (junior) SAP consultant tomorrow, and there was no training I would turn it down straight away (at least I think now). Hm? What do you think?
