That is very good, constructive advice from Neal and is well worth following. If you do as he says and record every time you are involved in solving problems and developing new solutions in a company you can also show that you can contribute to a new implementation and then the world is your lobster.

I'd look for something laterally attached to SAP. Something like a help
desk. But on application, I ask that they let me work on coding small
ABAP's on the side. In your resume, you can record how many ABAP's you've
written that were used in Production and what % of your work time was spent
on ABAP. In a few years, you are no longer someone with no experience. And
your go getter attitude will also be a big hit on your resume. Heck, if you
are good, they may even move you to full time ABAP...
